PINEVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities have identified skeletal remains found in Wyoming County as those of a Matoaka woman who disappeared in 2013.

Wyoming County prosecutor Mike Cochran tells media outlets that state police troopers found the remains of 38-year-old Theresa Ford on April 10 in a shallow makeshift grave. The remains were found during a search of 44-year-old Oscar Combs Sr.’s property in the Bud Mountain area.

Combs and his son, 21-year-old Oscar Ross Combs Jr., are each charged with first-degree murder in an unrelated case. The charges stem from the death of James “Bo” Butler of Summers County. Butler’s body was found in April 2011 over a hillside near the Wyoming-Mercer county line.

Cochran says the investigation of Ford’s death is continuing.
