JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - The state of North Dakota has announced the return of the Scenic Byways and Backways Program.

Tourism officials have released a brochure mapping out the 11 scenic byways and backways throughout the state. Motorcyclists who travel at least five of the 11 byways and backways will receive a special patch.

Searle Swedlund is executive director of the Buffalo City Tourism Foundation in Jamestown. He tells KQDJ radio that traveling the scenic byways and backways is “a way to get off the beaten path.”
