DENVER (AP) - A Denver woman who was was shot to death while on the phone with 911 dispatchers, allegedly by her husband, is being remembered as a devoted mother to her three young sons.

A funeral was held Friday for 44-year-old Kristine Kirk, who died April 14. Her husband, Richard Kirk, faces a charge of first-degree murder.

Police are investigating whether marijuana-infused candy that Richard Kirk ate before the shooting influenced his behavior. Kristine Kirk told dispatchers her husband may have also taken prescription pain pills.



The Denver Post reports (https://tinyurl.com/k4atmhs ) hundreds of mourners attended Kristine Kirk’s funeral at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.

Her older sister, Tammy Heman, remembered her as a woman with many talents who loved being a mother to her sons Ethan, Aiden and Andrew.
