NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - The College of Western Idaho has suspended enrollment for its culinary arts program because the school hasn’t been able to find a new facility for the classes.
CWI spokeswoman Jennifer Couch told The Idaho Press-Tribune (https://bit.ly/RSISwB) that the students currently in the culinary and the baking and pastry arts programs will continue with their education through December 2015.
The two technical programs are currently housed at Boise State University, but CWI was originally supposed to have new locations secured for the programs in 2012. Couch says the college is struggling to find a space that fills the needs of a modern kitchen classroom.
CWI President Bert Glandon said in a prepared statement that he hopes CWI will be able to bring the program back in three to five years.
