OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon woman who had been scheduled for five trials in six days in Clackamas County Circuit Court lost the first one when she was convicted of harassment. Now a prosecutor says the other trials have been temporarily postponed while both sides explore a plea deal.
The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/3xURTU ) that the misdemeanor charges against 48-year-old Susan Lenor Funk involve threatening behavior or physical confrontation.
She was convicted on Wednesday for shoving her 73-year-old father.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Scott Healy says that now, with a conviction, “We can explore a plea resolution.”
The cases piled up because the district attorney’s office faces a deadline for misdemeanor cases and Funk was in Oregon State Hospital for nearly a year for mental health evaluation and treatment.
