MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis police say a 7-year-old girl called 911 after waking up to find her parents had been shot.

The Commercial Appeal (https://bit.ly/1k9IK5h ) reports the girl told the 911 operator Thursday morning that she was home with her younger siblings, and she couldn’t wake up her parents.

Police Maj. Dennis McNeil told the paper that police and firefighters arrived shortly after 7 a.m. to find a man and woman unresponsive in the living room. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members at the scene identified the couple as James and Danielle Alexander and said they had three other children - a 5-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl.

Investigators said there were no suspects in custody and it was too early to determine what happened.
