VANCLEAVE, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation started a project this week to resurface a section of Mississippi 57 in Jackson County.
MDOT Southern Transportation Commissioner Tom King tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/RHOzNQ ) the project involves three miles of roadway along Mississippi 57 from U.S. 90 to Interstate 10.
Work has started to remove vegetation from the shoulders in preparation for paving.
The $1.69 million project was awarded to Mallette Brothers Construction, Inc.
Construction is scheduled for completion by June.
