HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police in Hopkinsville say the death of a 4-year-old boy at his home has been ruled an accident.
Spokesman Paul Ray told the Kentucky New Era (https://bit.ly/1nlJVlA ) that a window apparently fell shut on Wyatt Mallett’s neck on Saturday and suffocated him. He was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police say said the family told investigators that the window had been propped open with a blue stick, and officers found the stick lying near the window outside in the yard.
The death is the third one to strike the Mallett family this year. Wyatt’s parents, Tony an Hope Mallett, had infant twin girls who were stillborn in January.
