WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Emergency crews are back on a northern New York river to search for a man who disappeared after his canoe capsized.

Authorities tell local media that the man and a woman were canoeing on the Black River in Watertown around 6:15 p.m. Monday when the boat capsized. The woman was pulled ashore by people fishing along the bank, but the man couldn’t be found despite searches that lasted until nightfall.

Neither person was wearing a life vest.



Crews resumed their search Tuesday morning.

The woman was taken to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown. Her condition hasn’t been released.

Her name and the man’s haven’t been released.
