ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - A 25-year-old Rockford man was sentenced to 37 years in prison for the 2012 shooting death of a teenager outside a northern Illinois gas station.

The Rockford Register Star reports (https://bit.ly/1hkoJnP ) Martell L. Buckley apologized during Monday’s sentencing hearing.

A jury convicted him of three counts of first-degree murder in December for the May 2012 shooting death of 18-year-old Dwayne C. Buchanan Jr.



A 24-year-old man also was sentenced to six years in prison for the Rockford shooting after he pleaded guilty to aggravated discharge of a firearm.
