WASHINGTON (AP) - Police say three men have been shot and at least one of them was seriously wounded in southeast Washington.

Police spokesman Officer Paul Metcalf says the incident occurred just before 4:45 p.m. He says all three of the victims were conscious and breathing as they were taken to a hospital.

Some of the victims appear to have sought treatment at a nearby firehouse.

Metcalf says investigators are trying to determine what happened at the crime scene and the motive for the shooting.
