OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A hearing has been set to consider consolidating the murder and weapons cases of a man accused of killing four people in Omaha last summer.
Nikko Jenkins is set to be in a Douglas County courtroom Wednesday morning. Prosecutors will argue to consolidate his case that charges him with four counts of first-degree murder and another case charging him with being a felon in possession of a gun.
Jenkins is accused in the August shooting deaths of Juan Uribe-Pena, Jorge Cajiga-Ruiz, Curtis Bradford and Andrea Kruger. He has pleaded not guilty, and claims he didn’t receive proper mental health treatment while previously in prison.
Last month, a judge granted Jenkins’ request to act as his own attorney in the case, although a public defender will provide him advice.
