JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Police are investigating the beating death of a 16-month-old western New York girl.

Police in Jamestown say Friday they are interviewing relatives and friends of Nayla Hodnett, who was pronounced dead Wednesday night after her mother took her to a hospital emergency room. Her death was ruled a homicide due to blunt force trauma.

Jamestown Police Captain Robert F. Samuelson tells the Post-Journal of Jamestown (https://bit.ly/Qkt9Wf ) that no one has been taken into custody.



Jamestown is 65 miles south of Buffalo.
