DETROIT (AP) - A 32-year-old man already serving 75 years in prison for multiple rape, kidnapping and robbery convictions has been charged with killing two women and a man in Detroit.
The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says Gabriel L. Cooper was arraigned by video link Thursday in Detroit District Court on first-degree murder, torture, larceny and firearms charges.
His probable cause hearing is April 28. It’s unknown if he has a lawyer.
The office says Cooper stabbed 30-year-old Larae Bowman and shot her 32-year-old brother Lavon Bowman at their home in November 2012.
It says Cooper fatally shot 22-year-old Candest Mills, who was found in front of a home in January 2013.
Cooper is imprisoned at the Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon Heights for a 28-count felony conviction from Wayne County in 2013.
