SEATTLE (AP) - Clam diggers on the Washington coast this weekend should be alert for big waves.
The National Weather Service forecasts a high surf Saturday night into Sunday with 16-to-19-foot waves. Forecasters say the waves could race up beaches farther than normal and surprise diggers.
The state Fish and Wildlife Department has approved razor clam digs at low tides Saturday and Sunday morning at Twin Harbors, Long Beach, Copalis and Mocrocks.
