ELLISVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A second St. Louis County town has made its opposition to a possible St. Louis city-county merger official.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1hNK9P7 ) reports that Ellisville aldermen approved a resolution Wednesday rejecting a merger. Ballwin aldermen approved a similar resolution earlier this year.
Ellisville Mayor Adam Paul says his town is financially strong and provides solid services for residents.
Merger discussions have been heating up. Advocates say a merger would end duplication of services in the city and county. St. Louis is the only city in Missouri that is not part of a county.
