FORT KNOX, Ky. (AP) - A live fire training exercise is scheduled to take place at Fort Knox.

The 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., will conduct the training Wednesday at the central Kentucky military post.

The exercise is the battalion’s annual Task Force Training in preparation for the unit’s 20th deployment to Afghanistan. Approximately 600 Army Rangers will participate in this military exercise.



The 75th Ranger Regiment is a special operations force that conducts forcible entry operations and special operations raids across the entire spectrum of combat.

The training will consist of realistic military exercises designed to test the soldiers’ readiness capabilities.
