COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Commuters throughout Ohio were dealing with messy roads thanks to a spring snowfall.

Snow was accumulating in many areas of the state on Tuesday, with temperatures in the 30s. The northern part of the state was expected to get around 2 inches on the ground, with less elsewhere. Some schools were on a delay Tuesday morning because of the weather.

The National Weather Service is calling for frigid temperatures - including a hard freeze in some parts of the state - Tuesday night into Wednesday before a gradual warm-up. Highs are expected to be back in the 60s late in the week and for the weekend.

Snow in the springtime in Ohio isn’t that rare, but this time it came on the heels of a sunny and warm weekend.
