OGUNQUIT, Maine (AP) - An Ohio-based hotel group has purchased the historic Cliff House Resort & Spa on the Maine coast.

A statement by Rockbridge plans a major renovation after the upcoming summer season. The 142-year-old resort with 166 rooms is situated on 70 oceanfront acres atop Bald Head Cliff in Ogunquit (uh-GUN’-kwit).

New Castle Hotels will manage The Cliff House for Rockbridge. New Castle also manages the former Eastland Hotel, which Rockbridge renovated and reopened as the 289-room Westin Portland Harborview.
