CLANTON, Ala. (AP) - Forecasters say more rain is headed toward Alabama, prompting concerns about flooding.

More than an inch of rain already has fallen in parts of central Alabama, and forecasters say as much as 2 inches more of rain is possible in cities including Birmingham, Anniston and Tuscaloosa.

In Orange Beach, the fire department reported that water late Monday night was a half-foot to a foot deep on Caribe Drive.

WKRG-TV reports that several roads were closed in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

Much of central and south Alabama is under a flash flood watch through Tuesday afternoon. And areas near rivers are still under flood warnings because of the heavy rainfall last week.

Forecasters say temperatures will turn sharply colder after the rain passes, with temperatures below freezing forecast in north Alabama early Wednesday.
