JONESBORO, Ill. (AP) - Two men are accused in the weekend death of a man who authorities allege was punched and struck with a piece of lumber.
Union County prosecutors have charged 25-year-old Travis Turner of Dongola and 34-year-old Jessie Bell of Anna with first-degree murder.
Authorities say 46-year-old James Morrison of Anna was found injured early Saturday outside a home in Anna. He later died at a hospital.
Investigators allege Bell repeatedly punched Morrison in the head while Turner hit the victim with a board.
Turner and Bell are both jailed.
Online court records don’t show whether Turner and Bell have legal representation. They do not have listed telephone numbers.
