NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Strong thunderstorms brought heavy rains to parts of Oklahoma and the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for much of the eastern half of Oklahoma and portions of north Texas.

The tornado watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Keli Cain says there are no reports of injury or damage and that no areas had requested assistance from the agency.



Hail and heavy rain fell in the Oklahoma City metro shortly before 4 p.m. as the storm moved to the east and northeast.

The Storm Prediction Center reported quarter and larger sized hail near Stillwater and near Perry and in Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Norman and at Tinker Air Force Base.
