Portland woman startled by cat escapes home fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Portland woman says it was her cat that awoke her and not the fire alarm when a blaze began burning her mobile home.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/QkIGVB) the woman, the cat and another person living in the mobile home made it out safely after Saturday’s blaze. The mobile home, however, had significant damage.

Lt. Rich Chatman says that when crews arrived the home engulfed in fire and smoke. A cause has not been released.
