CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Casa Grande say a 16-year-old boy has died and four other teens are hospitalized after their car collided with another.
Casa Grande police spokesman Thomas Anderson says they were ejected from a Chevrolet Impala when it crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado just after midnight on Maricopa/Casa Grande Highway near Bianco Road.
Anderson says 19-year-old Randy Puerner, 17-year-old Justin Harrington, 16-year-old Dakota Repass and 16-year-old Anthony Brooks were airlifted to Phoenix area hospitals.
He says 16-year-old James Seaton did not survive.
Authorities say 34-year-old Jennifer McGee, of Maricopa, was driving the Silverado and suffered serious injuries.
Investigators believe the Impala was heading east when it entered a westbound lane and speed may have been a factor.
Investigators have reopened a roadway between Val Vista Boulevard and Bianco Road.
