TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man is in stable condition after he was shot trying to evade police with a search warrant.

Tucson police say 36-year-old Michael Castillo exchanged gunfire with officers after a foot chase in an apartment complex.

Authorities say the officers were preparing to serve a weapons-related search warrant when Castillo allegedly fled.

Sgt. Pete Dugan says Castillo was struck several times and taken to a hospital.

Dugan says the officers were not injured.
