TIOGA, N.D. (AP) - Chemicals may have been introduced into a Tioga apartment complex’s water system to thaw water lines.

The State Department of Health says Tioga officials have notified 20 individuals that were possibly affected. They say antifreeze was possibly one of the chemicals.

City officials are recommending the affected residents be tested at Tioga Medical Center for possible chemical poisoning.

Officials are in the process of flushing the compromised portion of the system.

The compromised area is without water, but the rest of the water system in Tioga is safe and operational.
