ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a moped driver killed after a collision with a truck in Anderson County.

Coroner Don McCown says 42-year-old James Scott McWhite of Piedmont died Wednesday of multiple injuries from the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Troopers say McWhite was driving southward on a 2009 Honda moped, turned left into a private drive and struck a 1991 Nissan truck.

Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones says McWhite was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Troopers are still investigating.
