FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long says the school has hired Indiana administrator Julie Cromer as an assistant in charge of the school’s women’s sports programs.
Cromer will replace Bev Lewis, who is retiring in June after more than three decades as a coach and administrator for the Razorbacks.
Lewis, who was the women’s athletic director for 19 years before the department merged with the men’s program in 2007, announced her retirement in February. Since the merger she has served as the coordinator of a five-member administrator group that provides support for each of the Arkansas’ 19 sports, while also overseeing other sports.
Prior to her time at Indiana, Cromer also worked at the NCAA, the Midwestern Collegiate Conference, South Alabama and Wright State University.
