Boucha Bagour of France named her son Jihad on Sept. 11. Three years later, she sent him to school wearing a shirt that read, “I am a bomb,” because, according to reports, she thought it was funny. School administrators did not agree.
The French website The Local reports that prosecutors at a criminal court in Avignon on Wednesday demanded that a $1,300 fine be imposed against the 34-year-old Ms. Bagour and a $3,900 penalty against her brother, Zeyad, for the offense of “glorifying a crime.”
Business Insider quotes Jihad’s mother as saying, “For me, this is the name of my son and his date of birth.”
