A California hiker and his dog is getting praised for saving a man’s life after the man got his foot stuck in a rock and was stranded for days on Mount Rubidoux in Riverside County.
“He kept on tugging at my pant and whining, pulling me,” said Ramon Llamas about his rescue dog, Mole. They were walking on one of the trails in Rubidoux Park when the dog stopped and started pulling his owner toward a hole the size of a plate, My Fox LA reports.
“I saw big eyes,” said Mr. Llamas, who at first mistook the man for a trapped animal.
The trapped man, named Paul, was apparently looking for some shade when he fell in the hole.
“He’d be dead if it wasn’t for that dog,” one paramedic told MyFoxLA.com.
Paul is expected to make a full recovery.
