Gilbert Arenas was stopped by the California Highway Patrol early Thursday morning and found to have a truckload of illegal fireworks, according to a report.

Arenas was released without bail after being booked for misdemeanor possession of the fireworks, TMZ reported.

The former Washington Wizards star, who was banished from the team after brandishing a handgun in the locker room following a dispute with teammate Javaris Crittenton over a card game, initially was pulled over for speeding.

TMZ reported a Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad was called in to help unload Arenas’ truck of the fireworks.
