Radford University found out Tuesday that it sent out more than a thousand diplomas last month with the word “Virginia” misspelled.

The public university awarded nearly 1,300 undergraduate and graduate degrees on May 11, a Radford representative said.

According to an image posted online, the third “i” in “Virginia” is missing.

A survey published last week by the National Council on Teacher Quality awarded the school three out of four stars for its graduate programs in elementary and secondary education.
