It seems that everyone with a Twitter account had something to say about the George Zimmerman verdict, and Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton was no exception.
“Today I am embarrassed to be an American … my heart goes out to the Martin family,” the 45-year old mother of two wrote Sunday afternoon. The post gained nearly 700 retweets.
George Zimmerman was found not guilty on Saturday night in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Miss Braxton, a Maryland native, has won several Grammy Awards, sold more than 40 million albums internationally and released six top-10 singles. Five of her six studio albums have achieved gold or platinum status.
The singer filed for bankruptcy for the second time in 2010.
