A man was shot during an argument at the IHOP restaurant in Columbia Heights, Metropolitan Police Department officials said Sunday.
A police spokesman said the man was shot at the restaurant in the 3100 block of 14th Street in Northwest around 6:30 a.m., during an argument between customers.
News reports said the man was conscious and taken to a local hospital. Police would not comment further on the man’s status.
The restaurant was temporarily closed but had reopened by noon. An on-duty manager declined to comment further on the incident.
Witnesses said a man and woman fled the restaurant on foot, and police said they were continuing their search for the suspects.
