A Woodbridge teenager is behind bars on charges related to a drunken hit-and-run crash that left a man dead.
Carol Rood-Johnson, 19, was arrested early Saturday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol, a Virginia State Trooper spokeswoman said.
According to a report from state troopers, Ms. Rood-Johnson hit a man in Fairfax County at about 12:02 a.m. around the 162 mile marker on I-95. The man was standing next to his car, which was on the right shoulder of the road. He died at the scene.
Ms. Rood-Johnson fled in a Hyundai Santa Fe, but state troopers found the car later Saturday morning in Prince George’s County.
The victim has not been identified.
Additional charges could be filed.
