Metropolitan Police on Saturday were investigating a fatal stabbing in Southeast.

Police said that on Friday at about 1:44 p.m. officers responded to the 400 block of Newcomb Street SE, where they found an adult male unconscious, unresponsive and suffering from stab wounds to the body.

The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was identified as 48 year-old George White of Southeast.
