PORT CHARLOTTE, FLA. (AP) - Philadelphia pitcher Roy Oswalt has been hit behind the right ear by a line drive off the bat of Manny Ramirez and has been taken for X-rays.

The Phillies say Oswalt had a neck bruise but did not lose consciousness. The team says he was not dizzy before leaving Wednesday’s game against Tampa Bay.

Oswalt fell to the ground and remained there until a trainer reached the mound to examine him. The right-hander stood up and after a brief discussion walked to the visiting clubhouse on his own.

Evan Longoria homered leading off the fourth against Oswalt. Ramirez, who had a RBI double in the first, was the next batter.

Oswalt, making his fourth spring training appearance, struck out four while allowing three runs and four hits.
