CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade has been added as a National League coach for the All-Star game.

Quade will take the spot of Jim Riggleman, who resigned last week as manager of the Washington Nationals.

The 54-year-old Quade is in his first full season as the Cubs’ manager. Chicago has been beset by injuries this season, a factor in its disappointing start.

San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy will guide the NL squad at the All-Star game on July 12 in Phoenix. Bochy added Quade on Tuesday.

Arizona manager Kirk Gibson also will serve on Bochy’s staff.
