ATLANTIC, VA. (AP) - A rocket carrying 17 educational experiments has been launched from Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

NASA says the Terrier-Improved Orion suborbital rocket was launched at 6:17 a.m. Thursday from its Wallops Island Flight Facility.

The experiments were built by university instructors and students from across the country.



A U.S. Air Force rocket carrying a Defense Department satellite is scheduled to be launched from the Wallops Island facility on June 28.
