Council member Mary M. Cheh is asking D.C. residents to weigh in on taxicab colors, fares and safety initiatives through an online survey.
Ms. Cheh, Ward 3 Democrat, and council member Tommy Wells, Ward 6 Democrat, introduced legislation this month to overhaul taxi services in the District. The bill requires all cabs to provide electronic payment methods, use GPS tracking and adopt a uniform color, among other reforms.
An online survey hosted on Ms. Cheh’s website allows users to weigh in on fare increases, their preferred color for city cabs and a checklist of suggested improvements.
