Apparently, the Democrats in Wisconsin aren’t done yet. Now Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi has taken it upon herself to legislate from the bench (“Judge blocks anti-union statute,” Nation, Friday).

Now, that’s something you just don’t do in the land of the free and home of the brave - just read the Constitution. Yet Judge Sumi takes a rules-were-made-to-be-broken attitude where her job is concerned. But don’t try it yourself in her courtroom.

The judge had the unmitigated gall to use her position to block legislation that would have impeded the corrupt government unions from engaging in the collective bargaining process. This is precisely how local bullies gain their footholds.

The Wisconsin legislature should seriously consider impeaching this loose cannon of a judge. In doing so, it would be setting an important precedent. Otherwise, there’s a danger that this brand of corruption will continue unabated.
