A classic collapse against Buffalo on Sunday left the defending AFC North champions on the brink of a full-scale meltdown heading into the final six weeks of the season. The Bengals are 2-8 and suddenly in the hunt for the first overall pick in next year’s draft.
They’ve got a grueling schedule left _ the Jets are next up on Thanksgiving _ and the defensive backfield is nearly wiped out by injuries.
Coach Marvin Lewis is in the final year of his contract and has turned down an extension.
