Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Our eldest son graduated from Drew University.

Most memorable house: A few. The Francis Scott Key town house in Georgetown and a single-family home in Silver Spring in which the husband was just returning from 440-plus days of being a political hostage in Iran. Many first-time buyers’ purchases are rewarding and take me back in time.

Worst experience buying or selling a house: I represented buyers who, unannounced to anyone, walked from the settlement table and a considerable earnest-money deposit, with the husband’s parting words, “I’m very sorry to all parties concerned; this is cheaper than getting a divorce.”
