How did you get started in real estate? After three years of practicing law, I left a small law firm due to financial problems there and was encouraged by my wife decided to study for my real estate license. I got in touch with a friend who has been a broker for about 30 years and started my real estate career. Simultaneously, I affiliated with a real estate law firm in Alexandria and gained valuable experience that has greatly benefited me and my clients.

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Earning my certified residential specialist designation, placing me in the top 4 percent of Realtors nationwide.

What is your area of specialty? Alexandria, Arlington and Falls Church

Highest-priced home sold: $810,000

Most memorable house: I sold a home last year in Alexandria that was an absolute “handyman special” or possible teardown. Most everything about the house was a mess, but the owner kept his brand new shiny red sports car parked in the detached garage. Nine out of 10 open house attendees inevitably asked whether the car came with the house. The house sold, but the owner still drives his sports car.

Worst experience: My client used an Internet lender, and we found out three days before closing that the appraisal had not been completed. After several frantic hours of conference calls between my client, myself and the lender, and some antacid tablets, we were able to get a last-minute rushed appraisal and, in the end, settled on time.
