One-stop flights to Charlottetown are available from all three Washington-area airports. Those visiting other Maritime provinces first can reach PEI by plane from Halifax, Nova Scotia; by car ferry from Caribou, Nova Scotia; or by driving across the eight-mile Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick.
Both the ferry and the bridge, said to be the longest in the world over frozen waters, charge only departing passengers, and the bridge is cheaper. Ferry: www.peiferry.com. Bridge: www.confederationbridge.com.
