This Nov 5, 2019 photo shows the four-sides headstone off the Porter family plot at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, Ohio. A spot marks out the plot of Capt. John "Blackie" Porter, who died when his plane was shot down during World War II, but it remains empty, as his remains have never been recovered. The plot also holds his brother, who also was killed in the war, and his parents. Thanks to about $40,000 raised from the Marysville community to fund a private expedition, an archeology team hopes to recover the remains of Porter and his crew.
