STEVE DEACE: Ted Cruz — ethanol’s best friend

Those who live and die by corporatism and taxpayer-funded subsidies have determined to go all-in to stop Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, from winning the Iowa Caucuses in a few weeks. Apparently Mr. Cruz believes too much in freedom and limited government for these people's tastes. It won't work, because these people have lost almost all their political clout for various reasons. Not the least of which is most people are tired of the corporatist gravy train.

STEVE DEACE: A memo to all GOP presidential candidates not named Ted Cruz

This memo amounts to an intervention. It serves to warn all other Republican presidential campaigns of a perfect storm looming on the horizon. Not only does the storm favor Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, but your combined failures/refusals to recognize it are only helping him. If that environment persists, Mr. Cruz will not only win Iowa next year, but win it convincingly.

In my home state of Iowa, the undocumented Democrat known as Republican Governor (for life) Terry Branstad, and the corporatist shills surrounding him could be poised to put the finishing touches on a complete rout of their own base.
