Among the hundreds of protesters arrested here during the Republican National Convention is a face that should be easily recognized by most political observers.
Desiree Fairooz, of Arlington, Texas, was one of four members of the anti-war group Code Pink arrested on trespassing and disorderly conduct charges Wednesday.
According to the group, the women were protesting the pro-war and pro-drilling positions of vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, when they encountered police and were told to clear out. The women then tried to crawl under a fence in an act of civil disobedience.
Ms. Farooz, like many other Code Pink members, is no stranger to antics that are … well, colorful. Last year, with red-stained hands, she confronted Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice during a Capitol Hill hearing. Here’s another look at that scene:

Code Pink said the women arrested Wednesday were released and told they would receive notice of a court date in the mail.
