White House press secretary Robert Gibbs squashed on Tuesday squashed rumors that President Obama will name a nominee for the Supreme Court this week.
“It’s not going to happen this week,” Gibbs said.

Hatch told reporters after speaking to the president that he believed a replacement nominee would be announced by the White House this week.
Gibbs said he was mistaken.
“The president … is working with the team to get a look at the people that he thinks are best qualified for this position. We want to move this process along in a timely fashion,” Gibbs said at the daily White House briefing.
