President Bush will bid farewell in a televised address to the nation — not before a joint session of Congress, but before a small audience at the White House, Jon Ward is reporting.
The idea is to make the president’s farewell address more intimate than a speech delivered directly to a TV camera and more friendly than one before a Democrat-packed Congress. Kinda like the final episode of “MASH” but without the helicopter ride.
